There has been a significant increase in complaints against large technology companies (Amazon, Apple, Facebook, Google) over the misuse of personal data information, censoring content and stifling competition and innovation etc. This has led to tighter regulations and many of them have spent a huge amount of money and time to pay for compliance to meet these regulatory demands. Despite so, these big tech firms have emerged as winners as higher regulatory costs have raised the barriers of entry for smaller companies. Politicians are not pleased with this outcome, and it is likely to hear more noises around big techs.
